From 2008 to 2011, as Art Director at Fodor’s, I led a team of designers through the transformation
of our guides into full color books. We made the leap of adding color photography and revising the design
of many interior features. These stand out pages highlighted a region's top sights and cultural experiences.
Below are a few sample spreads of these features from guides to Turkey, National Parks of the West,
New England, Germany and New Orleans. The advance of Fodor's books into full color became the travel publishing industry standard and was cited in the New York Times. We developed a model that competing publishers continue to follow.
